Accommodation & Travel Information

Accommodation:

Ipplepen and Totnes are the closest towns and lots of Air BnB's will be available around this area. Totnes will have the most choice for accommodation and we highly recommend as its a  gorgeous town to stay in. Newton Abbot is also a close location, and well connected with taxis. Also sea side towns are under a half an hour drive away, and beautiful if you want to be by the coast.

Please note: Following google maps directions to the venue will take you down a longer entrance way with more uneven ground.

Part of the drive into Battleford Farm is a narrow country lane, with uneven ground for approximately five minutes. Parking is provided in the adjacent field. Camping is also available in this field.

Direct driving access right up to the barn is available for guests needing closer access. Please let Matt or Hettie know in advance, and we will ensure a space is reserved for your vehicle.

Taxi's to depart will need to be arranged for 11.30 at the latest. Newton Abbott Taxis are the closest available (Frankie's Taxi's are a reliable company) Taxis will need to collect from the Yard area. Please direct them to the what 3 words location: ///polo.movements.remove

Cars are fine to be left in the field and will need to be collected by Monday 3pm.

Things to do on the Bank Holiday Weekend:

If your making a bit of a holiday out of this weekend, then we'd highly recommend visiting a few places along the way;

- Dartmoor National Park for walks (Hay Tor, Hound Tor or Rippon Tor ) Then pop into Widdecombe for a pub lunch at 'The Cafe on the Green' or 'The old Inn Pub'

- Dartmouth: a beautiful seaside town

- Totnes: Beautiful town with markets every Friday

- Banthem Beach: Great surfing beach which often has surf schools and hire available in the summer

- Bigbury and Bur Island: Gorgeous beach where at low tide you can walk out over to Bur Island for some gorgeous views.
